Toward Net Zero by 2050: Japan’s Path to Overcoming Conflict and Building a Circular Society – Two Reports Released

The Pre-emptive LCA Social Cooperation Research Department has released two comprehensive reports outlining Japan’s trajectory toward a net-zero 2050. The publication marks the culmination of the department’s first phase, which brought together 16 leading companies from across various global supply chains.
Drawing on three years of collaborative research, the reports provide strategic recommendations for achieving carbon neutrality. While the Future Scenarios Subcommittee envisioned a “consensus-driven” future that navigates conflicting sectoral interests, the Resource Circulation Subcommittee developed scenarios that account for complex industrial interactions. Together, these groups identified the specific, critical actions required to realize these goals.
